At Camping en Lozère, there is no shortage of activities for the whole family. Children can play safely in a secure, fenced playground that features slides, swings, a sandpit, a trampoline, a ping-pong table, a basketball hoop, a bouncy castle with a climbing wall and slide, as well as a bird’s nest swing. A youth chalet is also available, equipped with a foosball table, benches, and electrical outlets. For adults, an outdoor fitness area awaits, along with a pétanque court for friendly gatherings. During the peak season, we host lively foam parties every Wednesday, adding a festive flair to your stay.

The surrounding region of Camping La Palhère is a true paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. Lake Villefort, located less than 10 minutes away by car, spans 137 hectares and offers the perfect setting for swimming, canoeing, pedal boating, and fishing.

Mas de la Barque, less than 10 km away, is renowned for its wild nature, mountains, and rivers, providing exceptional opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, and stream fishing—an immersive experience in nature.

Thrill-seekers can also try canyoning in the local gorges or climbing on the region’s cliffs.

Finally, Lozère’s rich cultural and historical heritage can be explored through visits to picturesque nearby villages, perfect for a deep dive into the local traditions.

The towns of Villefort and Pourcharesses in Lozère introduced an innovative new initiative during the summer of 2020 to promote hitchhiking. This service perfectly meets the needs of those wishing to travel a few kilometres, whether it be from their campsite to the local shops or from the train station to the lake beach.

These zones are marked by signs installed during the summer of 2020, including one right in front of the campsite.

The municipalities have also created signs displaying the most requested destinations by hitchhikers, allowing them to easily signal to drivers where they wish to go. Additionally, ‘thumbs-up’ stickers are available for motorists who want to participate, promoting carpooling while also making an eco-friendly gesture.

Several strategic locations, including the beach at Lake Villefort, Camping La Palhère, Castanet, the train station, and Villefort, have been designated as dedicated hitchhiker pickup zones.
